A licensed attorney and big law firm associate. She is the founder of Topping the Curve (TTC), a law school coaching business where she helps individuals get into, and succeed in law school.
Prior to Topping the Curve, L.L.C., Sephora started TTC as a podcast where she interviews judges’, big law firm partners and associates, admissions deans, government attorneys, in-house attorneys, and more.
Sephora graduated Cum Laude from Georgetown University Law Center. At Georgetown she was the Editor-in-Chief of the American Criminal Law Review—the nation’s premier journal of criminal law—where she led a masthead of over 100 law students. She was a member of the trial advocacy division of barristers’ council, where she had the pleasure of serving as the assistant trial advocacy director and competing in national competitions year round.
During her first year of law school she was a Georgetown student ambassador and an intake volunteer for the Washington Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights and Urban Affairs, where she worked pro bono interviewing and helping clients with employment disputes. That year, she went on to be a summer associate at a big law firm in New York. During her second year of law school she was a RISE teaching fellow and mentor where she helped 1L students adjust and prepare for law school.
She was also an extern for the Department of Justice where she worked on million dollar tort claims and allegations. That summer she went on to work for a big law firm in Washington, D.C., and became a published author, publishing her article in a law journal. In her final year of law school, she was a student attorney in the civil rights clinic where she advocated for her clients in employment, unequal pay, race, age, and gender discrimination claims.
She accepted two federal clerkships for immediately after graduation, the first in the federal district court of Maryland, and the second in the fifth circuit court of appeals.
Topping the Curve has coached over 100 individuals to help them get into and succeed in law school. She has coached many of those individuals in life and career success, many of whom have gone on to successful big law positions, government positions, and other federal positions and private firms.
